Biophilic design is an innovative way of designing the places where we live, work, heal and learn bringing the proven benefits of being outdoors into our indoor space. Recent studies have shown that we need nature in a deep and fundamental way. Biophilia creates healthy and productive habitats for modern-day living that resonate with nature.
Scientific evidence supports what we instinctively know; that nature in the space can:
- recharge us
- make us more productive
- promote positive moods
- lead to greater happiness and well-being
Though this methodology is new to the West, it is a well-known aspect of Feng Shui, and has been practiced for millennia. Working with nature and the elements is the basis of Biophilic training and tradition, and promotes harmony in the home.
I am part of an international movement concerned with the way the human environment affects all aspects of health. This organization is called the International Institute for Bau-Biologie and Ecology (IBE).
The mission of Bau-Biologie/Building Biology is to help create healthy homes, schools, and workplaces, free of indoor toxins, which include chemical, biological and electromagnetic pollutants that affect the inhabitants, the water, and the quality of indoor space.
My goal is to promote environmental consciousness by using eco-knowledge to improve dwellings and workplaces within the framework of Feng Shui, Re-design & Vaastu.
